· assessing, and

· treating dissociation.

Caroline Falk, LCPC is an EMDR certified therapist and consultant. She began her career working with co-occurring substance abuse and trauma treatment. For nine years she worked with trauma and dissociative disorders. She co-owns Lotus Embodied Counseling with Sharnise Hendrick, which is a practice created from their shared passion for working with survivors of interpersonal trauma.

In the past three years Caroline has narrowed her focus to developing curriculum and training for therapists working with advanced trauma disorders and survivors of high demand groups.

Sharnise Hendrick, LCPC, RYT500 is passionate about offering clinical services that support the development and experience of self-connection. She specializes in the treatment of complex trauma and corresponding concerns related to dissociation. As a registered yoga teacher, Sharnise is a certified Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator (TCTSY-F). She is EMDR-certified and has advanced clinical training and experience in utilizing EMDR with clients who present with significant dissociation and attachment trauma. Sharnise is an adjunct professor at Towson University, where she teaches a graduate counseling course in the treatment of trauma.

AFTERNOON PRESENTATION:

"What About Us?: Managing Burnout"

This presentation will enable participants to:

·  explore current implications and vulnerabilities that  increase burnout;

identify warning signs of burnout;

explore how burnout impacts the ability to provide adequate care;

recall useful coping techniques to integrate into their daily life to prevent burnout; and

develop a self care plan to implement in daily life to better manage burnout.

 Myrja Paul LCPC is the owner and Clinical Director of Sol Counseling & Consulting. Myrja received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University and her Master of Science degree in Clinical Community Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Myrja’s mission is to decrease the stigma of mental health, particularly in communities of color. Her goal is to help people feel empowered to live, not merely exist or settle. She chose the name Sol because “the sun is a daily reminder that we too can rise again from the darkness, that we too can shine our own light”.

Tyler Mabry LCPC is a certified DBT professional and certified trauma and resilience specialist. After graduating from Bowie State University with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, Tyler pursued a Master’s of Art in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Trinity Washington University. Tyler chose this profession after noticing mental health disparities in the black community, despite the daily traumas faced in school, work, and home environments.  She utilizes a variety of therapeutic and holistic approaches, which focus on mindfulness, motivation, and emotional regulation.
